Best Towns in Cornwall

We have been to Cornwall quite a few times, these are our favourite villages and towns. We recommend visiting early in the morning or in the evening for a less busy time period.

Port Isaac

Unfortunately we were not able to stop here because of how busy it was. It looked so cute as we drove through. Please stop here if you have chance.

Padstow

We visited Padstow the morning of us leaving Cornwall, it was so peaceful early in the morning. We walked around the harbour and looked in a few shops. There were so many bakeries dotted around to.

Newquay

Newquay is what we would describe as the hotspot of Cornwall, when you tell someone you’re going to Cornwall Newquay is the first place they’ll ask about. There are some great shops in Newquay that we love visiting like True and there’s even a pizza express over looking the ocean (best location in our opinion).

St Ives

OMG was St Ives busy! We made the mistake of coming in the afternoon and it was hard to walk around as well as park. Once we got down we headed to the harbour and had a quick look in some shops.

Penzance

We didn’t spend long here, we walked along the coastline to the outdoor pool and back. We just wanted something easy when we came here. It’s worth exploring the town itself if you want shops and food.

Falmouth

Falmouth was absolutely packed when we visited. The streets are lined with independent retailers and cafes, then you cut down through side streets to the harbour to see the vast amount of boats.

Truro

We came her late on a Sunday so there wasn’t much going on but we saw the Cathedral up close and it’s huge! The friends we are staying with came back another day and said it was a nice walk around and they even found a gelato shop.

Polperro

This is a stunning little fishing village. You park in the car park (£6) at the top and then walk down and out to the water from there. The streets are lined with shops, pubs and places to get ice cream (Phoebe shared hers with Barney). We sat on a bench at the water side and looked back at the town before making the walk back out after meeting a Barney doppelgänger.
