This is our third time visiting Skye together. But our first time staying, we’ve only ever done day trips and felt now was the time to try and see more of Skye, this was not the case as it rained the entire time we were there.

So we’ve just got back from our honeymoon and wanted to share everywhere we stopped as well as some other good options. All of the places we stayed were dog friendly for Barney.

So we’re coming to the end of our time on the NC500. We didn’t spend as much time stopping on the west coast as we came last year. These are the highlights of both trips.

We continued along the north coast over two days exploring beaches, and tourist spots!

We started our NC500 trip going anti clockwise starting on the east coast.

Northumberland is filled with ancient castles; hidden gardens; unspoilt beaches; rolling hills; rugged moorland; sweeping views; friendly little market towns and a cultural heritage all of its own.

If you’re looking for beaches on your doorstep in England that will leave you wanting more, then Northumberland is the place for you.

I want to put out a disclaimer before you read this: we stayed in old town and didn’t really go into the new town area so everything I mention will pretty much be in the old town or main areas of Edinburgh.

We have been to the Isle of Mull a couple times together now. We are home bodies on Mull and will spend everyday doing the same thing, so there are so many other things to do on Mull which we hope to cover in the future.
